Forever in Love

For all you "Twilight" fans who are getting married, you can get Bella's special look!  Alfred Angelo has commissioned a fantastic replica of the famous wedding gown and it is at a stunning price of $799.  We just received the gown today and we are all excited for brides to start trying it on!  Don't you love the back?!

Almost Famous

We recently loaned a few of our bridesmaid gowns out for a commercial shoot and received the final video.  Check out our bridesmaid gowns at the 0:12 mark!  This is a great example of mixing styles from different designers!  But obviously that iPad is not the best bridal accessory :-)

Endless Summer

Another summer bride has sent us a picture from her wedding.  Grace looks beautiful in Maggie Sottero's "Fiorella."  Absolutely stunning!  Best wishes to the new bride!

Bey's Big Day

The big mystery is finally over!  We now know what Beyonce's wedding gown looked like!  And we were frankly a little shocked because it looks surprisingly similar to one of our Jasmine Couture gowns, T394.

Both gowns have the same dramatic bust line and a figure flaunting shape.  Compare them for yourself!  You can see Beyonce's gown at the 3:36 mark in the video below.

A Rare Gem

We were so excited to get pictures in of this recent wedding!  Erin and Andy were married in October, and she was definitely a creative bride.  Her wedding gown was the Maggie Sottero stunner "Victoriana," but she made it her own she the addition of ribbon detail and a customized Meg Jewelry brooch to her bust.  She completed her look with other custom Meg creations.  No bride has this unique of a look!

Melt Your Heart

One special groom gave his bride a good start to her wedding gown shopping by delivering red roses to her appointment.  How sweet!  And it must have been her good luck charm, because she found her dress!

A Gown of a Different Color

While white and ivory are great, classic choices for your wedding gown, we have been receiving a lot of requests for colored wedding gowns.  This offers a stunning, and unique twist to your bridal attire.  A few of our designers, including Mori Lee, have offered black gowns for years now.  But if this is a little extreme for you, a pale pink or gold would make your gown and big day just a little extra special!

Curvaceous Couture

Probably one of the hardest parts of shopping for a wedding gown when you're plus sized is the narrow range of sample sizes available for try-on.  We pride ourselves on having an ample selection of plus size gowns regularly in store, but next weekend there will be even more!  We're having our Beautiful with Curves Trunk Show on November 11 & 12.
The trunk show will feature numerous bestsellers by Casablanca and Unforgettable by Bonny, in sizes starting at 16+!  We still have plenty appointments available for both days, so its recommended to set up now to get your optimal time!

A Western Romance

We love the change in season around here, especially since that means beautiful autumn brides!  Kayleen was married only a few weeks ago, and she looked amazing!  Kayleen wore the always stunning "Adorae" by Sottero & Midgely, while her girls rocked Mori Lee bridesmaid gowns.  The gents complimented the ladies with their western style tuxedos by Jim's Formal Wear.  It was such a pleasure to help make Kayleen's wedding beautiful!  Congratulations to the fantastic couple!

It's turned chilly in Kansas City, but we received a picture from one of our June brides that warmed our hearts.  Claire and Scott were married earlier this year, and she looks fantastic is "Phillipa" by Maggie Sottero!  Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Oh, what a wonderful weekend we have ahead of us!  Our Casablanca Trunk Show is under way and the new styles are gorgeous!  We're booked for Saturday, but still have appointments open for tomorrow.

Are you finding brick walls popping up in your mind when trying to think of cute, DIY beauty ideas for your wedding beauty?  Lauren Conrad, of The Hills fame, has launched a fun, new website, The Beauty Department, dedicated to DIY beauty and hair.  There is even some great bridal make-up tips.  Doing your own makeup, hair, or nails is a great way to cut wedding costs and still look like yourself (beautiful and natural).

Today has been a lot of fast paced fun!  So many brides have found their dreams dresses today.  One bride even got a $1200 gown for $499!  There is still a few hours left, so stop in and try on some beautiful wedding gowns!

 We are packing up all our precious dresses and gems for this weekend's Perfect Wedding Gown Bridal Show!  We're very excited to be showcasing all our beautiful gowns, veils, and bling in our booth and during the fashion show.  We even have the new collection of Meg Jewelry to deck out all our lovely models and mannequins!

March to Your Own Tune

Another weekend has passed, and that means another celebrity has gotten married.  This time is was director Sofia Coppola, and she went the non-traditional route.  The bride wore a beautiful, lilac Alaia gown.  It definaelty fits her personality more than, oh say, three custom Vera Wang dresses :-)

Belle of the Ball

Our Maggie Sottero Trunk Show is underway and there are a ton of fantastic dresses in for the weekend.  Our staff's new favorite is Abilene Rose.  The gown has a romantic and sophisticated feel to it, with delicate, but supportive straps.  The belt is the wonderful accent to the soft shape of the dress.  Our favorite aspect is definitely the 3-D organza flowers on the train.  It is only fitting that such a beautiful dress is named after a town in Kansas :-)

Trunk Show Update

Our big Maggie Sottero Trunk Show is next weekend and we have received the list of gowns that will be coming in.  We're very excited about Geneva, which is GORGEOUS!  It looks like a more fitted version of Isadora Marie.
The really exciting part is that the sample will be a 22.  Most of the time, samples for trunk shows will come in sizes 6 or 8.  This is a great opportunity to try on a new Maggie Sottero gown for all the plus size brides.

Summer Love

We love telling people about our brides who come in.  Brandi was married recently on their own vineyard, Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery, and is a true Mia's Bride, with all their wedding attire coming from us.  The bride wore a gorgeous Sottero & Midgley gown, while her girls coordinated in adorable Jasmine and B2 dresses.  Her new husband, George, looked dapper in his tuxedo by Jim's Formal Wear.  Congratulations to the happy couple!  Everyone looks stunning!

The end of the month brings us to another wonderful bride who got married in June.  Nikki, wearing a stunning Sottero & Midgley gown, was married in KC to her great groomie, David.  We love the splash of color David incorporated into his Jim's Formal Wear tuxedo.  Congratulations to the lovely couple!

It Takes A Village...

This recent celeb wedding is sure to inspire a few fall/spring brides to go with an ethereal look.  Model Kate Moss was recently married in a small, English village in a custom John Galliano wedding gown.  While all brides may not be able to afford a custom, couture gown, they can definitely find a way to work in the nature based looks to their wedding.  A Blue by Enzoani gown can give that edge of couture, but still be airy and delicate.

Natural Beauty

Early in the month of June, one of our brides, Madison, was married on the side of a mountain in Colorado.  Her sample sale steal, a discontinued Essense of Australia gown, melded perfectly with the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains.  Gorgeous!

Special Trunk Show

We are very excited for our upcoming Mori Lee Trunk Show on June 10th and 11th.  Normally for trunk shows, we are told what we will be receiving but this time we can request which gown we will receive!  The gowns will be from their Spring 2011 collection, so if there is a dress we normally don't have and you want to see it, just give us a call!  We're trying to accommodate all requests for this collection.  It will be a great opportunity for all the winter brides to get their gown selections finalized!

Wedding of the Summer

Everyone knows that June is a crazy wedding month everywhere and we can't wait for what is sure to be the wedding event of the season!  You know who we're talking about, right?  Kate Moss? Wrong.  Paul McCartney?  Wrong again!  We are of course talking about Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner, and his lovely bride to be, 24 year old Crystal Harris.  Word is she is planning a very pink wedding.

If we had to plan a wedding at the Playboy Mansion, it would be frivolous and fun.  And what is more fun than a short wedding gown.  We especially love this flirty style from Mori Lee Voyage.  Pair it with strappy sandals or cute boots, and you'll be wedding to hop down the bunny aisle!

Mothers in May
